GLP-1 medications work, and most of the weight returns when they stop. That is a well-documented pattern rather than a personal failure. These pages cover what the evidence actually shows, what can be built while you are on the medication, and what to expect when appetite comes back.
Why this deserves its own section
An enormous amount has been written about starting these medications. Very little addresses the part that follows, and that is where most women we speak to actually are: past the first success, watching the weight return, and unsure whether they did something wrong.
They did not. In the largest study to follow people after withdrawal, participants regained about two-thirds of what they had lost within a year. That is the norm, not the exception.
Start here
- Why did the weight come back after I stopped?
What the trial data shows, and the two things that unwind at once. - How do I keep weight off after a GLP-1?
Protecting muscle, building patterns that survive hunger, and planning for the return. - Can coaching help while I am still taking one?
Why the months on the medication are the easiest time to build.
What the coaching work actually is
This is ground Telos has worked before. The coaching here is practical and specific: education about nutrition so you understand what you are eating and why it matters, shifting the daily habits the medication quietly carried, and untangling the emotional dependence around food that a suppressed appetite can mask rather than resolve. Alongside all of it sits strength training, because preserving muscle is one of the most important jobs during and after a GLP-1, and with more than 15 years of functional fitness training behind the practice, it is coached from experience.
Where we stand
Telos Wellness does not prescribe, adjust, or advise on stopping any medication, and coaching is not a substitute for one. Whether to start, continue, or come off a GLP-1 is a decision for you and your physician. Our work is the habits and structure around that decision, which is a smaller claim than most of what you will read, and an honest one.
You can read the full boundary on our medical disclaimer.
