The women who ask this are rarely asking about money. They are asking whether they are allowed to spend it on themselves. If you have never tried a structured approach, start cheaper. If you have finished several programs and regained the weight each time, the missing piece is not more information, and that is what coaching provides.
The question underneath the question
When women hesitate here, the words are usually about cost. Kids in college. Aging parents. Everything more expensive than it was. But listen a little longer and something else is underneath it: I do not know if I am worth spending this on. It feels selfish.
That is worth answering directly, because no amount of arithmetic touches it.
Ask a woman in this position what she actually wants and she almost never says a number on a scale. She says she wants to get down on the floor with her grandchildren and back up again. She wants to travel with her spouse or partner while they both still can. She wants to keep up with her hobbies, and she wants to stop watching her own mother struggle and quietly wonder whether she is next.
Every one of those is about someone else. Staying well is not something you take from the people you care for. It is the thing that lets you keep showing up for them. You are not the item that gets cut from the budget.
When coaching is a poor fit
It is not right for everyone, and a coach who says otherwise is selling rather than assessing.
Skip it if what you want is a meal plan. Skip it if you need someone to hand you a rigid protocol and enforce it without your input. Skip it if what you actually need is medical care. And skip it if the timing is genuinely wrong, because coaching asks for attention every week and there are seasons where that is not available.
Where it earns its cost
Coaching addresses one specific pattern: you know what to do, you do it well for three or four weeks, and then a work trip or a family crisis takes it apart. Starting again feels harder every time.
That is not a knowledge problem, and no amount of new information fixes it. It is a structure problem. What changes it is a plan built around the disruption instead of in spite of it, and someone who expects to hear from you next week.
It also helps to know the standard is not perfection. Around 80% effort, applied consistently, is where results live. Most programs quietly demand a full overhaul of a life that was never going to accommodate one, and then let you conclude you failed.
A fair comparison
Most women considering this have already spent money here. Lapsed gym memberships, apps, programs, supplements, sometimes medication. The honest comparison is not coaching against zero. It is coaching against another year of the same cycle, and what that year costs in energy, confidence, and the things you are putting off.
Ask any coach three questions: what happens if it is not working, what is included beyond the calls, and what they will not do. Clear answers are a good sign.
What this means in practice
The free Metabolic Health Assessment exists so you can decide on information rather than on a sales page. It is a conversation about where things actually are. If coaching is the wrong fit, hearing that is a better outcome for both of us than a client who quietly disengages in week three. See what the Telos Reset involves.
